My stay at "So Far So Good" hotel in Cerritos, was truly exceptional. The extra comfortable bed ensured a restful night, and the helpful staff, particularly Juanito and Alex, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. The private pool added a touch of luxury, and the breathtaking view complemented the overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and picturesque getaway.
What a beautiful sustainable place that Alejandro maintains here. Plunge pool was cold and necessary on a hot day. Smoothies were green, bed was comfortable. Well priced and well-maintained. If you want to upgrade beyond a surf hut, it is worth a visit to SFSG when checking out Cerritos!
I recently visited this hotel while traveling to the area for work, and I was a little disappointed in the service and the space. My best description of my thoughts during my stay is "that wasn't quite what was advertised" I just want to preface -- if you are a surfer or just someone looking for a bed to sleep in close to the beach, this might be your place. (albeit, it's very expensive in that case) But for me, I was specifically looking for somewhere that was modern, clean, safe, had a pool*, and had basic necessities like toiletries and a cafe for easy breakfast. (all things that were advertised)
The main reason I booked this hotel was because I saw a photo of a pool on their Google listing -- it looked modern and sunny and I was so looking forward to laying out there on my day off. There is no pool at this hotel. I am not sure how the photo made it into their listing, but that is the first thing that felt disappointing and honestly deceiving. There are only gardens in between the buildings (pretty, but not what I expected)
The second thing I noticed was that the room was technically like the photos on the website, but not quite as clean or nice as the photos appear. The sonos speaker that was provided was broken, the toiletries in the bathroom were a random collection of some unlabeled jars and some labeled with sharpie, and upon closer inspection, the body lotion available was actually left open and empty. The bathroom felt very exposed -- with full glass windows exposing you to the outside while in the shower. Even though our room looked on an empty field, as a female this made me feel uncomfortable. We also weren't able to deadbolt our door, which I really didn't like.
I also felt that the service was so confusing, partially because of the language barrier (I take more responsibility for not being able to speak better spanish here) but also there wasn't info in the room or at check-in for things like connecting to wifi, the housekeeping schedule, how to get more clean water, and how to lock the door. There was a little sign to hang on the door requesting a room clean, but even though we had the sign on our door, no housekeeping ever came. After a day or so, our shower began to smell and our floors were pretty sandy, which would have been really nice to have cleaned.
And finally, the cafe -- I thought there was an on-site restaurant, and when we arrived there was a sign on the rooftop of the main building that appeared to maybe have been a restaurant that is no longer operating. The 'breakfast' promised was fruit, and the espresso machine wasn't working. Again, not outrageous, but just not what was expected.
Again, as I said at the beginning, if what you are looking for is a simple surf hotel, you would probably enjoy this place. However, I splurged a little extra to stay here thinking that it would provide a little bit more comfort than other hotels that appeared to be more basic, and I really feel that I overpaid and did not receive the level of service that I thought I would get. I ended up paying over $650 for three nights that felt like I was in a hostel.
This hotel is beautifully put together. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable, the property itself is gorgeous with very impressive gardens. The staff are extremely warm and welcoming. I will stay here any time I am in Cerritos.
It’s a great hotel close to the beach, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets from the roof. The hotel is clean the staff is amazing, Alex makes you feel at home, they let you use the surfboards, beach towels, umbrellas, chairs and the food is healthy and delicious! Excellent hotel 100% recommended
